IGOLD

I love IGOLD's slogan... "48 other states can't be wrong."  IGOLD stands for Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day.  The big day is Wednesday, March 11.  Festivities start at noon.  Concealed carry in Illinois is long overdue. If you can't make it to Springfield in person, call or email the state Senators and Representatives.  For a listing of House and Senate members click here.  Please remember to be sweet when contacting your public servants.

Disturbed I am very disturbed about three things today. The church shooting in Maryville, IL has bothered me all day. The church is in the St. Louis metro area, so maybe it is just a little to close to home. I can't begin to imagine the horror. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Maryville community. Illinois does not have concealed carry. What is taking so long? There is much debate in the media about church-goers being allowed to carry in church. This is a debate, why? A good run usually clears my head, it didn't work this afternoon.

You Want Me to Do What? This evening, at our kitchen island. Tracy: How was IGOLD today? John: It was good. You would have loved it. The women of IGOLD gave our new governor a gift. Tracy: Really? John: (grinning) It was like a shadowbox. Inside was a rat-tail comb, a key, and a tongue depressor. Tracy: That's ridiculous. John: It said "in case of emergency break glass." Tracy: (confused) I don't get it. John: These are suggested weapons the state says you should use in case of an attack. Tracy: What do you do with a tongue depressor? And, if it worked, who carries one in their handbag? John: (eyes rolling) You should use it to make yourself vomit. I am not often speechless. I was tonight. Off to the Internet I went. Guess what I found! On the Illinois State Police website there is a list of "helpful" hints in case you are confronted by an attacker.
