Gun Loving John's Must Have Menu

I received a lot of feedback regarding the staples of a gun collection.  Just for grins and giggles, I asked John for his official list of "must haves."  He was tickled to provide it and it took him all of 30 seconds to pull it together.  Here is John's list in no particular order:

My comments are as follows:

• I am surprised the list is so long (I'm totally fibbing, no surprises here).  However, I will point out that my list of make-up must haves is not this long.
• I now completely understand why we have multiple gun safes and a gun room.  If the list of necessities almost totals 25, then how many do we really own?  (John, don't answer that.  I don't really want to know.  Wait, you don't have any idea, do you?)
• Five ARs?  Seriously?

Pretty Pistolera's Weekend Update

Not much to share.  I was in New York all of last week.  I spent the weekend catching up on two things I desperately missed while I was in New York...  sleep and exercise.  My running program is going good and I slept until noon both Saturday and Sunday.  The weather was fabulous this weekend.  I would've loved a trip to the range, but exercise and sleep trumped trigger time this weekend. 

Two random things:

1.  I finished my book on the plane.  No Shortcuts to the Top was a great read.  It prompted me to consider Mt. Rainier as a start to mountain climbing.  I found some great four day summit trips for beginners.  

2. John bought Winston a new toy.  It is a beaver skin or something.  No stuffing, just a limp piece of fake animal skin.  I am not normally grossed out by such things, but it was a surprise on the living room floor.  Needless to say, Winston loves it.

 

Odd... Very, Very Odd...

I am announcing a new category here at the Pretty Pistolera:  Nuts Stuff John Drags Home.  He can find some odd things, and he happens to be a little bit of a pack-rat.  This is not a good thing... his pack-rat-ness makes me crazy.  I hate stuff, knick knacks, clutter, piles, and mess.  The biggest mess I usually have is the mail pile (please see exhibit A and exhibit B).

Anyway, back to the Nuts Stuff John Drags Home inaugural post... the newest addition is a black powder mouse trap. 

Seriously???

PS - Dear God, I pray we never need to use this contraption.  Amen.
