Now Playing on YouTube...

Here is the video from the 50 Range. The video is short.  I spared you the lessons and instruction that occurred up to this point.  Also, there was a very, very long process of sighting in the crazy thing... boring... you can thank me later. By the way, I actually hit the target!  I was about 11 inches from the bulls-eye, not bad considering the shot was taken from 500 yards away.

Now playing on YouTube...  The Pretty Pistolera Shoots a Fifty.

Also, please be sweet and remember the camera adds 10 pounds.

The blast off those .50s is awesome!

Is this a paid class you went to?

Welcome to the gun blogging community. The blog looks great but one piece of unsolicited a0dvice: set up RSS feeds so that people can keep up with you with an aggregator or reader. You'll get more regular readers that way.

I'll be looking forward to reading more.

Thanks for the advice, sailorcurt! It's now on my to do list.

Hi J,
It was not a class. My husband, John, is a huge 50 fan and happens to have a friend that owns a 600 yard range designed for 50 shooting. Between John and the rest of group I had great instruction. However, a class is a great idea! I am going to put it in the suggestion box :)

Isn't it neat the way it makes your nose kind of numb when you shoot it? :D

I guess now's not the time to brag about shooting an M16 at 500 meters, with iron sights, and hitting bulls.

That was a long time ago, though. Doubtful I could do it now without some practice.

So everyone knows, I didn't mean to sound like an arse with that comment. It was just some playful banter.

Dang! It is good to have friends with a 600 meter range and .50s to shoot. How does one find those? ;-)

Here in the People's Republic of California we aren't even allowed to buy the .50s anymore! Go figure. I don't have to tell you how stupid that law was.
